Welcome to the RANGER Class

Join the ranks of the Rangers of the Great Wood, Protectors of the Wilders.

Fighting to protect nature itself from the encroaching refugee crisis of the war in the Blood Sands, we value order over chaos, and we must protect the sanctity of the forest above all else. Neither the Nomadic Horde, nor the heretical traitors of Nightmoor shall wrest the forests from us!

Upon joining the Ranger Class, you will play as Llanorin Thornwood, A Guardian of the Forest of Ravona, and a key Commander on the front lines between the Wilder Territories and the Blood Sands.

The Play Style of the RANGER.

The Ranger occupies the colour GREEN on the Wheel, and is a deck designed around Board Control. Ranger Cards have the ability to Tap, Untap or Bounce Creatures back to the hand, either your own or your enemies. They can severely halt tempo, and in some cases, even throw creatures into the bottom of the deck.

Win conditions in the 'Rise of the Wilders' Ranger Deck.

The deck consists of a Primary win condition based around Llanorins primary Ability. Every time you successfully return a card that Costs 4 or less back to its owners hand (either yours or your opponents) you get to stall the board by forcing a Creature into a Tapped state. This can be done on either your turn or your opponents.

Additionally, Rangers have access to a unique Trigger Ability called 'RANGED'. This ability appears on certain Creatures, and is triggered when the Creature with the ability is returned to the hand. Allowing for some strong synergistic abilities with the core Ranger play style as long as you target your own Creatures.

Who makes their home in the Ravona Greatwood?

The Greatwood and its surrounds, including the coastal areas and the Rittan Archipelago, are home to many tribes that adore nature, or work with natural magics and affinities. The Elves foremost of all, rulers of the Shadewood and the City of Ravona itself. The Centaurs also make their home here, as do the Jackalope, a peculiar race of Rabbit-like humanoids.

Merfolk and Treefolk try to stay out of the conflict, but their desire to protect what's theirs often draws them into the fold. It's the Fae you need to be watchful of. The embodiment of nature magic, their divine and unique powers can turn the tides of war.
